Ronaldo Sculptures: The Good and Bad

The sculpture at Madeira's airport was supposed to honour the great man, but brought plenty of laughs instead.

The unflattering sculpture of star soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo was unveiled at the renaming of the airport, in Ronaldo's home city in Portugal, earlier this year.

After copping criticism, artist Emanuel Santos blamed the inaccuracies on not having Ronaldo model for him in person.

Despite his chiselled features, it turns out that accurately sculpting Ronaldo is easier said than done.

Back in 2014, Ronaldo revealed another statue at his own museum (yes, his own museum) - a 10 foot bronze monstrosity with a prominent bulge.
