Local Womens Rugby Team uses NRLW Star to Grow Club Numbers

    Solution

Rooty Hill came to Pickstar looking for a female rugby league star to join a recruitment drive for their upcoming season. They wanted to secure a female star who could inspire girls to take up rugby by sharing their personal journey into the sport.

Following the talk, Rooty asked if the talent could help run a basic skills clinic for an expected group of 40 to 50 girls aged between nine and 18.

After submitting a shortlist of sports stars and a brief, the opportunity was sent to Sydney Roosters star Shontelle Stowers, who keenly accepted.

      Outcome

"Shontelle Stowers from the Sydney roosters came down to our club to run through some drills for women of all ages. She was very well-spoken and paid attention to the finer details of all women who participated. Some women who have never played before and were hesitant to start are now believing they have a shot in the NRL thanks to the efforts of Shontelle. I highly recommend you consider her to come to your club and help promote women in League." - Rooty Hill JRLC
