Four NBA Social Media Fails

Like a lot of people, sometimes top athletes don't think before they post on social media. Given the profile and social following of NBA stars, the ramifications can be big.

And it gets them in hot water, or they become the laughing stock of the internet. They are often warned about what they should and shouldn't post, but it seems as though this falls on deaf ears, as we see new hilarious headlines every day.

Here are four of the biggest NBA social media mistakes.

1. D’Angelo Russell & Nick Young

Incident:

Laker’s rookie D’Angelo Russell secretly recorded a video of his teammate Nick Young admitting to cheating on his fiancé, Iggy Azalea – which ended up across every social media platform possible. You’d think Young would be the bad guy in this situation after cheating on his fiancé, but that wasn’t the case. Russell was called a snitch who ruined a relationship and lost the trust of his teammates.

2. Draymond Green

Incident:

2016 was a rough year for Draymond Green – from his team, the Golden State Warriors blowing a 3-1 lead in the NBA finals, to accidentally posting a picture of his JUNK on his snapchat story. Amazingly, the photo remained on his account for a decent amount of time before he took it down. His initial response was that he was hacked, but later he admitted that he pushed the wrong button and that the snap was meant to be private.

3. Ayesha Curry

Incident:

Staying on the topic of the Warriors blowing their 3-1 lead – Stephen Curry’s wife, Ayesha, was far from impressed with their performance. She went on a twitter storm and accused the NBA finals of being rigged. The internet was quick to respond and called her out for being a sore loser, and she became an instant meme. After the heat of the moment was over she deleted her tweets.

4. Larry Sanders

Incident:

NBA power forward Larry Sanders could not wait to show off his new tattoo on Instagram, until his fans called him out for an embarrassing spelling error. The post shows a photo of his hand with a misspelling of the word "receive". The tattoo artist obviously didn't follow the "I before e, except after c" rule and left Sanders with a permanent reminder to always double check his spelling . He laughed it off saying "same meaning, different spelling".
