The Standout Australian Athlete of 2017

You may have not heard of her, but 22-year-old Britt Cox is dominating world winter sports.

The Aussie mogul skier won the World Championships in Spain earlier this year, as well as sweeping up the World Cup! The title is won by accumulating the most amount of points for performances throughout the year and Cox cleaned up, winning seven out of the 11 events she competed in.

She was the first Australian to win a world championship in the Olympic format moguls, with Dale Begg-Smith winning the dual moguls title back in 2007.

Following her success, she was named joint winner of the Australian Ski and Snowboard Athlete of the Year Award in 2017, sharing the title with snowboarder Scotty James.

Britt has always been one of the best in her field, being the youngest athlete from any country competing at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and then coming fifth in the following Winter Olympic games in Sochi.

She said all the training she has done over the years is finally paying off, with her secret to success being focusing and mastering the basics and fundamentals of the sport.
